Add Some Fun When Snorkeling With a Sea Scooter
Snorkeling dates back at least 3,000 years, when Greeks used plant reeds to aid in breathing while under the surface of the water. Fast forward to the present day, and people have made the recreation far more safe and comfortable than in ancient times. The vast majority of our Earth lies underwater and remains unexplored and undocumented. Scientists have named thousand of sea species, but admit that they have only identified about 25% of the undersea population of plants and animals, at best. Hundreds of well-visited locations around the world present snorkelers with opportunities to see some of the most unique and vibrant species in existence, in breathtakingly vivid and rich colors.
Unlike scuba diving, no formal training or experience is needed to snorkel. A person simply needs to be able to perform the act of calmly holding their breath while they descend to a comfortable depth. After exploring the surrounding area for as long as they can comfortably hold their breath, a diver should then ascend toward the surface, pointing the tip of the snorkel out of the water first, and exhaling powerfully and smoothly. Generally speaking, locations near the equator present the best areas for snorkeling. Oceans that are warm, clear, and full of tropical fish await travelers to the Caribbean or the western coasts of Mexico and a wide number of other locations. Every year, millions of American vacationers head toward warm waters, which are prime turf for snorkeling. Perhaps now is a better time than ever to embark on a snorkeling-based vacation, seeing as how an entire day of snorkeling for an entire family can be done for free.
Through the magic of modern engineering and underwater innovation, sea scooters are now available to the masses. Every experience worth doing is worth enhancing over time, and sea scooters do exactly that for the typical diver. Small, quiet, and incredibly lightweight when immersed in water, sea scooters are a perfect aid to any snorkeling experience. Sea scooters also shoot back a light spray of bubbles that will glide off of the stomach of the diver, creating a relaxing and perhaps even titillating sensation. The mechanism can be handled and maneuvered easily, especially with the added lightness and smoothness of being underwater.
Sea scooters are just a little bit larger than a regulation NFL football, and will propel a snorkeler through the water at a steady pace, for quite a long time. Sea scooters can be purchased online, or rented at nearly any business or locale that also rents out snorkeling and scuba gear. Anyone who plans on snorkeling while using a sea scooter should first become accustomed to its dynamics and effects while experimenting with the machine at very low depths and in safe conditions before going out for serious snorkeling.
Located in the southeastern corner of the Caribbean, just a few hundred miles above Venezuela, Barbados might be the Earth's single greatest location for sunbathing and snorkeling. Barbados is located within a short plane ride of a number of well populated states and countries, but it presents a middle-of-the-Earth feel that is a product of being surround by warm, calm ocean for many miles, and in all directions. The tourism season in Barbados extends from March to October.
